Belarusian machine-tool manufacturer Kuzlitmash to expand to more range

The Pinsk-based machine tool manufacturer Kuzlitmash intends to establish a ring rolling mill by 2020, BelTA learned from Prime Minister of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov after a tour of the company on 21 August.

As the premier visited Kuzlitmash, measures to increase the production of forge-and-pressing equipment, casting equipment and components that automobile and tractor manufacturers buy were discussed as well as measures to sell more merchandise and stabilize the company's financial and economic state. Besides that, the Belarusian head of government was made familiar with the project to set up a ring rolling mill at Kuzlitmash premises and the production of tire rims for mine dump trucks with the carrying capacity of 90-450 tonnes in the next five years.

Andrei Kobyakov said: “I think Kuzlitmash has good prospects. The new manufacturing facility has no equal in the world, the developers say. Once it is established, components for BelAZ trucks, including 450-tonne ones, will be improved a lot. The project to set up the new manufacturing division is well-developed already, it is now necessary to take care of the financial part. I believe that the final decision will be made by the end of the year,” said Andrei Kobyakov. The project will cost $158.1 million to implement. Italian and German equipment are expected to be used. The new facility will make ring blanks, bearings, crown gears for planetary drives and so on. The project will recoup investments within 7.3 years and will create over 1000 jobs.

Speaking about BelAZ Holding, which Kuzlitmash is part of, Andrei Kobyakov mentioned that the holding company is working hard on exporting merchandise to far arc countries. “We are talking about India, China, other Asian countries as well as South America. Kuzlitmash's prosperity will depend on how fast BelAZ sales recover among other things,” explained the Prime Minister.

Andrei Kobyakov was in Brest Oblast on 21 August on a working trip. The Prime Minister visited the granite manufacturer RUPP Granit, the industrial group Polesie, and OAO Kuzlitmash.

The public joint-stock company (OAO) Kuzlitmash is a national machine tool manufacturer. It is known in the Commonwealth of Independent States as a producer of forge-and-pressing equipment and casting equipment. In the last few years the company expanded the product choice with agricultural machines. Kuzlitmash became one important part of BelAZ Holding in 2012.
